Most individuals are unaware of how they actually run and are often surprised when they see a recording of themselves.
Our practitioners use high-speed digital equipment to record an individuals movement patterns that take place during walking, and running. With these observations and a combination of biomechanical knowledge we can then evaluate pain and dysfunction to determine how best to resolve it.
In the normal movement of running muscles are recruited in a co-coordinated sequence, however if incorrect muscles are recruited faulty movement patterns develop. This can cause misalignment of joints leading to pain and injury. A gait analysis should be an essential part of your programme if you intend on training for a marathon or triathlon to ensure you achieve and maintain optimal muscle activity preventing future injury and improving future performance.
